Inside Out & Back Again by Thanhhà Lại is a moving novel-in-verse about Hà, a young girl who flees Vietnam with her family after the fall of Saigon and begins a new life in Alabama. As Hà learns English, navigates school, misses her father, and tries to understand her new home, she wrestles with grief, identity, belonging, and hope.
